Cargo Hold
Cargo holds in a bulk carrier are used to transport a wide range of unpacked bulk cargo, like grain, coal, iron ore, cement and soya beans. Some cargoes, such as iron ore, can cause mechanical damage to the coatings, while others, such as coal, can stain the coating.
Most cargo holds will be protected by a coating system which will require regular inspection and maintenance.
The Coatings Radar App has been designed to ensure you can conduct a consistent and correct evaluation of the coatings in the cargo holds. 3D interactive evaluation has been developed to assess the coating condition based on industry and international standards.
